This quick and easy recipe transforms a simple packet of ramen noodles into a deliciously crispy and savory dish. Ingredients

1 packet of ramen noodles

½ ramen seasoning packet

2 tablespoons olive oil

½ tablespoon soy sauce

½ teaspoon ground ginger

1 tablespoon hoisin sauce

Toppings

2 eggs (soft-boiled, poached, or fried)

Nori (seaweed), cut into strips

Shrimp, cooked

Edamame, steamed

Instructions

Cook the Ramen

  1. Boil the Noodles:
    • Bring a pot of water to a boil. Add the ramen noodles and cook according to the package instructions, usually 3-4 minutes.
    • Drain the noodles and set them aside.

Fry the Ramen

  1. Heat the Oil:
    • In a large skillet or wok, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the Seasoning:
    • Add the half packet of ramen seasoning, soy sauce, ground ginger, and hoisin sauce to the skillet. Stir to combine and create a flavorful base.
  3. Fry the Noodles:
    • Add the cooked and drained ramen noodles to the skillet. Toss the noodles in the sauce, stirring frequently, until they start to crisp up slightly and absorb the flavors, about 3-5 minutes.

Prepare the Toppings

  1. Cook the Eggs:
    • Prepare your eggs as desired (soft-boiled, poached, or fried) and set them aside. 
  2. Prepare the Shrimp:
    • If using raw shrimp, cook them in a separate pan until they turn pink and are cooked through, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  3. Steam the Edamame:
    • Steam the edamame until tender, usually about 3-5 minutes.
  4. Prepare the Nori:
    • Cut the nori into thin strips for garnish.
