This homemade Big Mac imitation is AMAZING. Not only does this sandwich taste better than the real thing, but it is WAY healthier! This burger is the perfect way to satisfy your McDonalds cravings in a healthy, easy to make manner.

Ingredients

For the Burger:

2 95% lean beef patties

1 sesame bun (for top bun)

1 bottom piece of the bun (for the club layer)

1 slice of American cheese

1/4 cup white onion, finely chopped

3-4 pickles, sliced

For the Sauce:

1/4 cup mayonnaise

1 tablespoon relish

1 teaspoon white vinegar

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon onion powder

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon yellow mustard

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, relish, white vinegar, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, and yellow mustard. Stir until well combined. Set aside to let the flavors meld.
  2. Cook the Patties: Heat a non-stick skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Season the beef patties with a little salt and pepper. Cook the patties for about 4 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. Place the slice of American cheese on one of the patties during the last minute of cooking to melt.
  3. Toast the Buns: While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the sesame bun and the bottom piece of the bun (club layer) in a toaster or on a dry skillet until golden brown.
  4. Assemble the Burger: Spread a layer of the prepared sauce on the bottom piece of the bun. Place one beef patty on top of the sauced bottom bun. Add a layer of pickles and a few pieces of chopped white onion. Place the sesame bun on top of the first layer. Spread more sauce on the underside of the sesame bun. Add the second beef patty with melted cheese on top of the sesame bun. Add another layer of pickles and white onion. Finish by placing the top of the sesame bun over everything.
